CONCENTRATION ONE:
ACTUARIAL ANALYTICS IN HEALTH MANAGEMENT

(Pending WSCUC approval) 

The program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive skill set tailored to the healthcare industry, including data analysis, risk assessment, predictive modeling, and health economics. Students will learn to analyze healthcare pricing, including insurance premiums, reimbursement rates, cost-sharing structures, disease management, and quality improvement through healthcare innovation. The program will also provide training in making health policy decisions based on data-driven insights into healthcare access, quality, and affordability. We aim to collaborate with healthcare institutions and professionals to ensure that the curriculum aligns with the evolving needs of the industry and stays current with emerging healthcare technologies and data science methodologies through regular reviews and updates.

PREREQUISITE/FOUNDATION COURSES (6 CREDITS)

These courses serve as foundational knowledge in Statistics and Management Information Systems. The courses may be waived, if the student has taken a relevant class in his/her previous degree studies with a Grade of C or above.

All students must complete five core courses (20 credits)

CONCENTRATION TWO:
HEALTHCARE DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS

This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and quantitative skill set tailored to the healthcare and biology industry. Combining data science, clinic bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer coding prepares students to be at the forefront of healthcare innovation. We empower our students to harness the potential of data, AI, and coding to revolutionize patient care, streamline healthcare processes, understand interdisciplinary life science, and advance the field of healthcare by developing AI-driven solutions and applying coding expertise to healthcare challenges.

 

By collaborating with healthcare institutions, biology research centers, and professionals, we ensure the curriculum aligns with the evolving needs of the healthcare industry and advancements in data science. The program is regularly reviewed and updated to stay current with emerging healthcare technologies and data science methodologies.
